COMMENCEMENT OF THE NEW ENHANCED NIGERIA e-PASSPORT

PUBLIC NOTICE
COMMENCEMENT OF THE NEW ENHANCED NIGERIA e-PASSPORT

This is to inform the public of commencement of the new enhanced Nigerian e-Passport. The features of the new Passport include the 64 page 10-year Passport as well as the contactless Passport renewal services.

2. The contactless Passport renewal service is an optional service that allows applicants to personally submit biometric and picture online without the need to appear in person at the Embassy for the biometric capture.

3. The contactless service is available to adults and for renewal of Passports only. Applicants for fresh passports, minors, replacement of lost or damaged Passports and change of details are not eligible for the contactless service.

4. The contactless service attracts a service charge in addition to the online passport renewal fees.

5. Applicants can now apply for renewal of passports one (1) year before expiration.

6. ALL PASSPORT APPLICATION PROCESSES ARE STRICTLY ON APPOINTMENT.

NOTE:
All applicants who opt for contactless service MUST send/Post the following to the Embassy:

  • The old Passport.
  • €28.00 Postal order (Administrative charges) obtained from An Post, Ireland.
  • A registered post self-addressed envelope affixed with €9.50 postal stamp.

Fresh E-Passport Application Requirements for Adults

1. Print out of the Completed online passport application form.

APPLY FOR E-PASSPORT

Fresh E-Passport Application Requirements for Children / Minors (under the age of 18)

1. Print out of the Completed online passport application form.
2. Copy of Birth Certificate (original must be brought for sighting).
3. 28 Euro postal order from An Post Ireland made payable to the “Embassy of Nigeria in Ireland".
4. A letter of consent duly signed by the father and Mother/Legal Guardian.
5. Photocopy of the passport data page of the father and mother.
6. Passport photographs of both parents.
7. If either parent has sole custody, a copy of the court order granting full custody or authority to waive the rights of the other parent in passport issuance.
8. In case of a Legal Guardian, photocopy of Court order awarding custody and the Passport data page of the Legal Guardian. 9. Proof of address (Such as Utility Bill, etc.).
10. Waterproof self-addressed Envelope affixed with postal stamp of €9.50 or €13.00 for 3 or more passports.

2. E-PASSPORT RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS (RENEWAL OF PASSPORT)

E-Passport Application Requirements for Renewal of Passports

1. Print out of the Completed online passport application form.
2. Two (2) recent passport size photographs.
3. Original and Photocopy of the current e-passport.
4. 28 Euro postal order from An Post Ireland made payable to the “Embassy of Nigeria in Ireland".
5. Proof of address (Such as Utility Bill, etc).
6. Waterproof self-addressed Envelope affixed with postal stamp of €9.50 or €13.00 for 3 or more passports.

3. CORRECTION OF DATA DUE TO CHANGE IN MARITAL STATUS

E-Passport Application Requirements for Change of surname due to Marriage

1. Written application of request for Change of Surname due to Marriage.
2. Print out of the Completed online passport application form.
3. Two (2) recent passport size photographs.
4. Original and Photocopy of the current e-passport.
5. Copy of Marriage Certificate or Declaration of Marriage (Original copy to be brought for sighting). 6. Photocopy of the data page of Husband's passport.
7. Affidavit for Change of Name from a High Court deposed to by the Applicant (if the marriage was done in Nigeria).
8. Copy of Newspaper Publication of Change of Name (21 days after publication) (if the marriage was done in Nigeria).
9. Statutory evidence of change of name e.g. deed poll (if the marriage was done elsewhere outside Nigeria in lieu of 7 and 8 above).
10. 28 Euro postal order from An Post Ireland made payable to the “Embassy of Nigeria in Ireland". 11. Proof of address (Such as Utility Bill, etc).
12. Waterproof self-addressed Envelope affixed with postal stamp of €9.50 or €13.00 for 3 or more passports.


APPLY FOR CORRECTION OF DATA

E-Passport Application Requirements for Change of surname due to Divorce

1. Written application of request for Change of Surname due to Divorce.
2. Print out of the Completed online passport application form.
3. Two (2) recent passport size photographs.
4. Original and Photocopy of the current e-passport.
5. Copy of Marriage Certificate or Declaration of Marriage.
6. Copy of Decree Nisi and Decree absolute or Court order for dissolution of Marriage or Confirmation of Divorce.
7. Evidence of Maiden Name.
8. In case of Re-marriage, Certificate of Marriage with Current Spouse.
9. Affidavit for Change of Name from a High Court deposed to by the Applicant (if the Divorce was done in Nigeria).
10. Copy of Newspaper Publication for Change of Surname (21 days after publication) (if the Divorce was done in Nigeria).
11. Statutory evidence of change of name e.g Deed Poll (if the Divorce was done elsewhere outside Nigeria in lieu of 9 and 10 above).
12. 28 Euro postal order from An Post Ireland made payable to the “Embassy of Nigeria in Ireland".
13. Proof of address (Such as Utility Bill, etc).
14. Waterproof self-addressed Envelope affixed with postal stamp of €9.50 or €13.00 for 3 or more passports.


APPLY FOR CORRECTION OF DATA

E-Passport Application Requirements for Change of surname due to Death of Husband

1. Written application of request for Change of Surname due to Death of Husband.
2. Print out of the Completed online passport application form.
3. Original and Photocopy of the current e-passport.
4. Copy of Marriage Certificate or Declaration of Marriage.
5. Certificate of Death of spouse from National Population Commission (NPC) or any competent Authority if the death occurred outside Nigeria.
6. Evidence of Maiden Name.
7. In case of Re-marriage, Certificate/Notification of Marriage with Current Spouse.
8. Affidavit for Change of Name from a High Court deposed to by the Applicant (if the death of former husband and the subsequent marriage was done in Nigeria).
9. Copy of Newspaper Publication for Change of Name (21 days after publication) (if the subsequent marriage was done in Nigeria).
10. Statutory evidence of change of name e.g. Deed Poll (if the subsequent marriage was done elsewhere outside Nigeria in lieu of 8 and 9).
11. 28 Euro postal order from An Post Ireland made payable to the “Embassy of Nigeria in Ireland". (Administrative Consular Service Fee).
12. Proof of address (Such as Utility Bill, etc).
13. Waterproof self-addressed Envelope affixed with postal stamp of €9.50 or €13.00 for 3 or more passports.


APPLY FOR CORRECTION OF DATA
